What is a combination boiler?
A combi boiler is a boiler that gives you instant hot water directly from the boiler; meaning its good if you want to maximise space as this system does not require any additional tanks. This system gives you good hot water pressure because it runs off the mains pressure coming into your home to make sure you have good pressure. The downside to this system is if you have several taps running at the same time your hot water flow rate will drop significantly.
What type of boiler should I get for my property?
This really depends on the property layout. If it is a big house with three or more bathrooms then I would recommend an unvented type system or a conventional system. This is due to the volume of hot water which will be needed to facilitate all those bathrooms. This type of system has an independent cylinder that works with your boiler.
What boiler brand do you recommend?
Vaillant or Worcester Bosch.
I have hot water but my heating is not work or I have heating but my hot water is not working?
This is a common problem which can be fixed relatively easily. The fault many times is to do with your zone valves. However, if you have a combi boiler, then it’s a diverter valve issue.
My hot water goes hot and cold when I am having a shower?
This fault only really happens on a combi boiler and is often due to a blockage within the plate to plate heat exchanger.

Move gas and water pipes
The job was bigger than anticipated, so we decided to update our ageing boiler to a Combi and get rid of the water cylinder. We also took the opportunity to move the boiler from upstairs to the kitchen. Collin suppled 2 heaters to keep us warm (brilliant and much appreciated) and proceeded with the job which was carried out with the minimum of fuss and mess. An excellent job well done. Thank you.
